  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots

Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Brewster is a male 4-5 month old pug mix.... either puggle (pug /beagle) or chug (pug/chihuahua). He will likely mature at the 20 lb range. Brewster is a very timid boy, he gets scared easily of new places and new people and does not always react well when he is fearful. He will need a dog savy home willing to take their time with him, slow but constant socialization, training, patience and someone home most of the time. He is very clingy once he decides to trust you (and it doesnt take long at all). A nice calm/social dog may help him by showing him appropriate behavior. Because he is so fearful a home without small children is best. He is pretty good on the leash and very cute. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. We only make consider long distance adoptions for dogs who have been in our rescue for 6 plus months with no local candidates. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. Please note that we are all volunteers so it may take up to 3 days to process your application, but you will hear back from us if your application is a good match for the pet. We do not have a shelter so individual appointments must be made to meet the pet you are interested in. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County. This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and in some case a home check. Listed for adoption: 2/24/2021 Adoption fee: $450 PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Basil is a female pup born 2/2020, at 10 months she is already 78 lbs, very tall with long legs and an even longer face. Basil is mystery to us, her face looks like a dobie or a collie mix.... her tail reminds you of a greyhound.... she is built very slim and has a super slick short coat. She also looks a little like a shepherd or a malinois. Basil is very tall and will likely get a bit bigger. She is sweet, likes to snuggle and be really close to her people. She knows some basics and likes to carry her toy with her wherever she goes including to go potty. Basil is a little cautious of strangers but warms up quickly and likes treats. She is used to car rides and going to dog parks. This is a beautiful large puppy who would make an amazing family dog. Probably no tiny children only because she is so tall. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Jicama is a little female senior chihuahua, just about 8-9 yrs old and just under 7 lbs. Jicama is very sweet and easy to get along with, just likes attention and being held yet is pretty low maintanence. Jicama does have a cataract in one eye so her eyesight is pretty limited on that side. She had a dental cleaning and had some teeth pulled but that doesnt stop her. She is a sweet and easy girl who would make someone a great little loyal companion. She has some age related stiffness in one of her back legs so no super long walks for this pup. Jicama is papertrained. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Gunner is a male German Shepherd born 4/2017. Gunner is a big boy, at 80 lbs he has a giant head and feet and tons of coat. He acts like a sweet teddy bear, super social and outgoing with all the people he meets, but very strong. He was raised with another big dog and does better with larger dogs, small male dogs are not really his thing. He will need a strong owner with some large dog experience. He has been through obedience school but gets very excited and could use a refresher in training, he is however a pro at fetch and does good abotu not jumping up on people, this is a very nice boy. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Ramon is a little chihuahua mix born around 7/2006. This little man has a sad story and we are hoping for a happy ending for him, even if its not for long. Ramon is all of 7 lbs with very long legs. Ramon's owner decided that she could not care for him because of her pregnancy, we are not here to judge but its pretty sad. Ramon is sweet, calm and pretty easy to get along with. His labwork shows that he is in early stages of kidney failure, has a severe heart murmur and bad dental disease (unfortunately because of his heart and kidneys he is not an anesthesia candidate). So, we are looking for someone special to provide a forever home for Ramon, even though it likely wont be for long considering his health. He will need special food. We do have a foster for him in the meantime, but a forever place would be even better. Ramon likes to play with toys, enjoys other small dogs and is sweet with everyone he meets, what a nice little man. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Jacob is a male 15 lb chubby chihuahua, he is very chubby and should be closer to 12 lbs. He was born 1/2012. He is super sweet once he warms up to you, but is cautious for the first 10-15 min. Probably not ideal with small children. He is quiet and crate trained and good on the leash on a harness. He likes other dogs and is very cute with the best colors and a cute face with blue eyes. He does have a small "cherry eye" on one of his eyes, but since its not bothering him, has been there a very long time and is very small, we are opting not to put him through surgery. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Mr Bean is a male 6-7 yr old chihuahua, a middle aged ittle boy. He is loving, social and super cute but he does also have a mind of his own and likes to be the boss. Mr. Bean is just under 8 lbs. He loves strutting around like a much bigger dog. He is ok with non-bossy male dogs as he can be pretty bossy himself, female dogs would be best. He is food possessive, so no small children please. Mr Bean has a heart murmur, he is not on any medication and it does not bother him one bit, but its hard to predict what the future holds. He also has some disk issues on his back, since we dont know anything about his past we dont know when it happened but we do know that he is painful at times and to keep pain to a minimal we do have to keep him at a good weight (he cant get too heavy). Ravioli is a little 6 yr old 6 lb apple headed chihuahua with beautiful big eyes, big ears and a sweet personality. She is very sweet and pretty confident and social for such a little girl as long as she is around people knows. As most tinies, the world of strangers can be scary for her. She likes attention and loves snuggles with her person, she is the ultimate lap dog and will follow you around all day. She is doing well with dogs and cats in her foster home but is bossy. Ravioli came to us with really bad dental disease and had a cleaning and extractions. Sadly her jaw was made weak by the rotten teeth and it broke. She is doing well in recovery, already eating like a champ so we know in no time she will be back no normal. She is too small for childen under 13 and super rambunctious dogs. As many tinies she has bad knees but they dont bother her. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. Update 2/11/21: Kokonut had to have surgery to have her right eye removed on 2/10/21, sadly the pressures in her eye kept going up and we did not want her to be in any future discomfort. Now she has one eye but dogs dont know they are missing something so it should not affect her at all. Kokonut is a female chilhuahua mix, 7-8 yrs old and 9 lbs. She is very sweet, low key and so precious. She comes up to strangers always wagging her tail. Kokonut appears to be housetrained and does well with submissive dogs. She did have a dental cleaning with some extractions and a mass removal and is doing amazingly well recovering and getting ready for her forever home. She also has a MPL (loose knee) but that does not bother her at all. Koko is an easy sweet girl who would be a joy to have around the house. Tito does have some lower back issues and walks a bit slower then most, but it doesnt stop him at all. He also had a dental cleaning and some teeth pulled. Tito is a precious boy, not fiesty or snappy at all, just sweet and calm (although he is bossy with other dogs who try to dominate him). Because he is so small and because of his back, older children only and not large/playful dogs as they could hurt him without meaning to. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Chief is a male terrier mix, a little 11.5 lb boy who has a ton of wiry black/silver hair and very expressive eyes. Chief is 3-4 yrs old. He is shy at first but does want to trust, he just takes a little time. Chief is not great on the leash yet (too scared) and would need a quiet place to come out of his shell. He does well with other small dogs and is very respectful with them. He bonds to one person is the home so a quieter home with just one caretaker is likely best for him. Please note that at this time we are not able to respond to every application. It is crucial that you read the dog's bio to make sure that she is a match before you apply. If she is a match, we will respond within 48 hrs. Maggie is a little female long haired chihuahua/doxie maybe spaniel mix who was dropped off at the shelter because her family did not want the responsibility of taking care of her. She is 9 yrs old and around 8 lbs she does not take up much room at all. Maggie is slow to trust however if you take time to get to know her she is sweet, loves being a lap dog and getting belly rubs and asks to be picked up and carried. She is very loyal and bonds quickly and follows her person around the house all the time. She loves attention and treats but she is is food/treat possessive and resource guards so a very experience home with no dominant dogs would be best. Maggie is also fear aggressive at times, when she knows she is in trouble or when you reach for her too quickly she will bite, so her owner has to be careful and familiar with fearful dogs and be ready for continuous training. We know she can be amazing in the right home as she has come such a long way in terms of trust, but she needs that dedicated adopter to help her stay on track. No children for this pup. While she is housetrained she does act out at times with inappropriate urination, so again lots of stability would be best for her. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. If you are interested in meeting this bunny please email mountaincowgirl2@gmail.com as she is not with our rescue, but a courtesy listing. Hi, our names are Tinker and Bell. We were rescued back in January of 2019, when we were left at a park. Since then we have been with our foster mom working on getting healthy and strong enough to be adopted. We are both over 5 years old so we are considered to be older for bunnies. Bell was spayed in February and did very well. Tinker however was very ill when found. Over the past few month with lots of help from his vets and foster mom he has made a steady recovery. He does have some permanent breathing issues but they don't slow him down any! As long as he is kept in a calm quiet environment his episodes are kept to a minimum. Bell and Tinker are very happy and enjoy their retired life together. They are looking for a calm and quiet family who will give them a loving and relaxing life for the rest of their days! If you are interested in adopting this sweet elderly couple please contact their foster mom at mountaincowgirl2@gmail.com Listed: 4/26/19 Adoption fee : $50 View full description »

Updated 11/21/2020: Ginger (AKA Sofi) was adopted from us as a kitten but sadly 3.5 yrs later she needs a home again. The other cat in her home never warmed up to her and continued to attack her on regular bases. She would love a home where she does not need to compete for attention or with a very gentle friend as she really does love other cats despite her previous experience. Ginger is a very gentle, sweet, shy (at first), affectionate and easy-going cat. She is absolutely beautiful. She was diagnosed with Feline Triaditis. Through symptom management with the help of medication she takes in her food (twice a day) and special food, she is doing great, but the behavior of the other cat makes her symptoms flare up. Note: she is not a fussy eater and takes her medication in her food quite readily, making her condition very easy to manage). Ginger is a female orange tabby, a fluffy born around 3/20/17. This cat is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated. To make sure they are placed in appropriate homes we do require an adoption application, short interview, contract and an adoption fee of $75. Please fill out our cat application at http://pupsandpals.net/cat-adoption-application/ or email pupsandpalsrescue@yahoo.com for a cat/kitten application. Please do not fill out our dog application. Typically adoptions take 3-7 days First Listed: 5/5/17 View full description »
