Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Tito is a male 9 yr old tiny chihuahua, all of 4.5 lbs. He is very sweet, likes being carried and gets along with other dogs. Tito does have some lower back issues and does take pain meds for that, but they are inexpensive. He also had a dental cleaning and some teeth pulled. Tito is a precious boy, not fiesty or snappy at all, just sweet and calm. Because he is so small and because of his back, older children only and not large/playful dogs as they could hurt him without meaning to. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Chief is a male terrier mix, a little 11.5 lb boy who has a ton of wiry black/silver hair and very expressive eyes. Chief is 3-4 yrs old. He is shy at first but does want to trust, he just takes a little time. Chief is not great on the leash yet (too scared) and would need a quiet place to come out of his shell. He will be getting a dental cleaning before adoption. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. • Prefers home without small kids

Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Luzi is a female 6-7 yr old chihuahua, a very scared little girl who has had a rough life. She is around 9 lbs. She was owned by someone who had tons of dogs and was unable to properly care for them. She has some hairloss due to fleas and a mammary mass that is now removed and thankfully not cancerous. She would do well in a quiet and patient home where someone can let her warm up at her own pace. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. Toto
TotoTotoTotoTotoTotoToto
  • Morkie, Yorkshire Terrier, Mixed
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Housebroken
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
  • Prefers home without small kids

PLEASE read this pet's entire bio before applying. Sadly we are not able to respond to every application at this time but we will reach out to the one that is a good match. Please do not apply if your home is not a match for his needs. Updated 10/9/2020: Toto completed his 2 weeks board and train and is now ready for a new home that can continue helping him practice all of his newly learned skills. Toto is a male morkie (maltese/yorkie) born 11/7/2018. He is just over 11 lbs and has beautiful silky silver/gold hair. Toto was surrendered to us because he bites, thankfully not super hard but never the less its something that needs to be resolved as it will get worse otherwise. The trainers have evaluated him and found that he has insecurity bases aggression. He quickly becomes possessive of his person and when they walk away or excitement happen, that triggers him to act aggressively to try to control the situation and to keep the person from leaving. He is fine with meeting people on walks and in the home and likes other dogs (as long as they are not too intimidating) but when people start to walk away he gets really amped up/anxious, barks and nipping. He needs to be treated like a big dog, not so much like a lap dog, he needs to work on a "place" command when people come and go as well with lots of praise when he is in his place and timely correction when he reacts with aggression. No children for this boy and smaller households with little commotion where the owners can focus on training would be best. He is young and does need someone with the time/energy for exercise and focus on training and treating him like a little busy terrier rather then an ornamental lap dog. Toto does have some allergies, so both good food and flea control will be important for him long term. This dog is not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please do not apply. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. Gypsi
GypsiGypsiGypsiGypsiGypsiGypsi
  • American Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Mixed
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots

Please read this pup's entire bio before applying and please do not apply if your home/family is not what we are looking for this pup as we are very specific as this breed needs to be set up for success. Note that due to an unusually high number of applications at this time we are no longer able to respond to every application but we will reach out to the one (s) that seem like the perfect match.  Gypsi is a female 7 month old American Bully (born around end of 3/2020). She looks like a tiny pit bull but it is a different breed. She is short and stocky and only 25 lbs now, so she should mature at 35-45 lbs although we cannot promise. She is the prettiest shades of blue fawn/white and so so soft. She is a sweet, playful girl who is either 100 MPH Tasmanian devil with very sharp shark teeth or completely passed out snuggle bug, there is very little in-between time. She was placed with us by a well intentioned family who took on too much by getting this little girl so we intend to make sure her next home is 100% ready and prepared. She is good with other dogs, but is also a bully, so she is already pretty dominant once she gets to know them, so she would not be good for a home with a small dog or a senior dog as she will take advantage of them. Female bully breeds tend to generally do best with a male of equal or bigger size, she will challenge other dogs so another alpha female is not a good match. While she loves children, she is very mouthy with them in play and is too protective of them so children over 10 only please. She is a great little watch dog and ready to tackle anything she sees as danger to her pack so whomever adopts her will need to take her to training to channel that protective behavior into something positive. She will need lots of exercise, she is great on the leash, can do quite a long distance on walks already and will play fetch, ball and carry things in her mouth all day. She is not fully housetrained yet, but is working on it, she just needs frequent potty breaks.  This is not a beginner or novice dog, she needs an owner experienced in bully breeds with tons of training knowledge as she is already protective, occasionally dog reactive and is dominant with other dogs. Gypsi has already been thorough 2 weeks of board and train and knows all of her basic commands. This pup is not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please do not apply. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and a home visit. Listed for adoption: 8/3/2020 Adoption fee: $450.... plus a $200 training deposit which will be refunded to you with proof of completing a training course within 60 days of adoption. She is not an easy pup and will need training, not just at home, but in a regular/scheduled setting with a professional. PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. We update our pages daily so if he/she is pictured here in the available dogs section, we are accepting applications at this time. View full description »

Nucky is a male Chihuahua born 4/2012. He is a beautiful red/white boy on long legs. Nucky is tall and weights 8.5 lbs. Nucky is very sweet, especially to children, he loves children. Nucky does well will other dogs as long as they are not too intimidating or big and likes to play with his toys and he co-exists nicely with cats. He is also snuggly and likes to be carried under jackets, so cute. He likes a game of tug and knows to sit for food. Nucky is a homebody but he is also happy to enjoy walks and even short hikes. He is not very vocal and looks like a little deer. He gets overlooked all the time as he is just another tan middle aged chihuahua, but he really is so special. He likes dogs but not when it comes to mealtime or snack time and has to eat in his kennel if other dogs are around as he does not share well. He spends much of his time curled up in a bed, but does run around in the yard play too. He has no health issues except as many chihuahuas he has bad knees, they don't bother him but every few month or so he will favor one of the legs for a day or so, then it will go away. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up.
