Jake is a male 3-4 year old shih tzu mix, maybe with havanese. He has a soft long coat which had to be cut very short as he does not love grooming, at least not yet. He is 11.5 lbs and has the cutest whimsical face with biggest eyes. Jake is a submissive pup with other dogs, he is cautious at first but warms up quickly. He is crate trained, leash trained and good in the car. He is ok with kids and other dogs and loves to be picked up and held, he would love an owner who wants a little velcro dog. Jake enjoys a game of fetch or sitting on the couch and watching tv. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. • Prefers home without small kids

Rhubarb is a very quiet and timid puppy who was born 12/2023 and has not been socialized outside of his yard/family. He appears to be a lhasa mix and is around 15 lbs, so we believe he will mature at around 16-18 lbs. He will need a patient family willing to let him take his time to come out of his shell. He gets along with other dogs but the world around him seems scary for now. He is an adorable baby with lots of love to give to the right owner we are very hopeful that he can find a quiet household to decompress and learn. If you're looking for a furry friend who will stick by your side, then look no further. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Jack is a male Yorkie/poo/schnauzer mix born around 10/22. He has a gray soft coat and the most expressive eyes, he looks like a 13 lb muppet. Jack's previous owner realized they are not in a place to have time for a young active pup. He would love someone who can be home much of the time or to go on walks/adventures. Jack is very social, good on the leash, housetrained and even knows how to stay off the furniture. He gets excited to meet new people coming in and out but he will settle quickly. He is a great watch dog and does not bark for no reason. He loves affection and is a great companion. He will follow you around the house to see what’s going on and is happy to be in the same room or in a lap of you prefer, but he is not needy. He is affectionate, energetic, curious, intelligent, spirited, and friendly. He loves fetch and toys and is a quick student and he also likes other dogs. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but if your application appears to be a good match for the dog we will reach out within 3 days. Elain is a female mix breed puppy. We think spaniel mix, but its pretty difficult to be sure, she also looks a bit like an aussiedoodle. What we do know is that she was born 1/10/24 and is charting to be a 10-15 lb pup as a grown up. She is sweet, has a great thick coat and the prettiest markings. She is not appropriate for a home with pet allergies as we have no idea of her background. It does look like she will need regular grooming. We wil be updating pics when we can. This dog is not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please do not apply. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. We do not have a shelter/kennel. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but if your application appears to be a good match for the dog we will reach out within 3 days. Penelope is a female black/white chihuahua born 4/2015. She is a senior but is very spry and certainly does not act like an older dog. Penelope loves people and other dogs and is a little velcro dog who loves snuggling. She is good on the leash and is just over 10 lbs and a bit chubby. She is good on the leash and jumps right into the car for car rides. Her senior owner passed away. As many chihuahuas Penny becomes very protective of her person, she decides to guard them from others, so she is not a good match for small children or very busy households. • Prefers home without small kidsSpecial Needs

Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Brewster is a male 2 yr old, 20 lb pug mix.... either puggle (pug /beagle) or chug (pug/chihuahua). Brewster is a timid boy, he gets scared easily of new places and new people but in a home he is a very sweet boy. He does better on anti anxiety medications as he gets overly stimulated and reactive. He will need a dog savy home willing to take their time with him, slow but constant socialization, training, patience. He is very clingy once he decides to trust you (and it doesnt take long at all). A nice calm/social dog may help him by showing him appropriate behavior. Because he is so fearful a home without children is best as visiting friends may be too much for now. He is pretty good on the leash, loves to walk or run in quiet places and very cute. He enjoys getting in the car for rides too. Brewster loves the company of other dogs and gets along with them so well. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. Please note that we are all volunteers so it may take up to 3 days to process your application, but you will hear back from us if your application is a good match for the pet. We do not have a shelter so individual appointments must be made to meet the pet you are interested in. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County.
