Our veterinary bills are sometimes into thousands of dollars per pet. Routine veterinary care on a rescue includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, grooming and is usually $300-500.  However, many of our dogs need more then routine care, for example: bloodwork, lump removals, biopsies, eye surgery, boarding, allergy treatments, etc. Anytime we get a senior pet who needs a dental its typically $500-1000 including the extractions and pain meds. Adoption fees alone do not cover those fees and we always appreciate donations. We use several amazing hospitals and they are generous with our rescue discounts, but still those expenses add up.   We also have a great need for Gift Certificates to pet-related places such as Amazon, PetSmart, Petco to help the foster homes take care of their foster babies.

Fostering
We are always looking for foster homes for our rescues. For every pet we take there are dozens waiting to come into our rescue. If you can foster even one, it will make all the difference to that pet. We usually have an assortment of pets to chose from and a typical foster lasts from 4-6 weeks. We also need fosters for mothers while they are nursing the litter. You would be taking care of them for 8 weeks until they are ready to alter and adopt out. As a foster parent you would be responsible for the dog’s daily care in your home. You would also be responsible for pickup and drop off of your foster for adoptions. We are responsible for the veterinary care of the pet. If at any time a foster dog is not working out, they are of course welcome back.  Please email pupsandpalsrescue@yahoo.com if you would like to foster or fill out our foster application at : https://form.jotform.com/222050782800043

Drivers

We need drivers who can drive to shelters or to a private home to pick up a pet. There are dogs which can be saved only if there are folks available with cars to go pick them up.  Additionally drivers may be needed for home visits or to take a pet to the vet.   Please email pupsandpalsrescue@yahoo.com if you would like to volunteer.
