Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but if your application appears to be a good match for the dog we will reach out within 7 days. Please note that this pup will not be ready to go home until sometime early June. Mylo is a male french bulldog, he is 4.5 yrs old and a very thin 22 lbs at this time, he should fill out closer to 26 lbs. Mylo is pretty low key, sweet, social and super cute. He came to us with skin/ear issues and he clearly has had a rough life for the last few years. He is very forgiving and social though and will make someone an amazing pet. We would prefer to place him in a home with frenchie experience. Mylo is good on the leash and loves toys. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. We only make consider long distance adoptions for dogs who have been in our rescue for 6 plus months with no local candidates. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues, please visit our main website for adoption procedures at www.pupsandpals.net and then fill out our application. Please note that we are all volunteers so it may take up to 3 days to process your application, but you will hear back from us if your application is a good match for the pet. We do not have a shelter/kennel. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County. This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and in some case a home check. Listed for adoption: 5/18/22 Adoption fee: $500 PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but if your application appears to be a good match for the dog we will reach out within 3 days. Monroe is a female chihuahua something mix born 12/9/2019. She is just over 14 lbs and has a great short coat and a pretty expression on her face. Monroe is good with other dogs and on the leash and is sweet and loving. She would do well with a doggy playmate but does not have to have one. Monroe makes you think of a tiny rottie... but we are guessing chihuahua/min pin/doxie? Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but if your application appears to be a good match for the dog we will reach out within 3 days. Nogard is a male pug (or pug mix), he is the biggest pug we have seen at 32 lbs and we lovingly call him a "pugasaurus". Nogard is sweet, social, likes to be out and making friends and enjoys other dogs (if they dont mind lots of snoring in their face). Nogard was born 11/15/2020 and is still a baby at heart. He walks well on the leash and does well in the car and is crate trained for night time. We prefer someone with pug/frenchie/experience as he gets overheated easily. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 5 days. Fern is a female 2 yr old bloodhound, she is small for the breed at just 71 lbs. Fern's first owner passed away and the 2nd owner had too many other pets, so she really needs a forever home. She is sweet, a little hesitant at first, takes treats gently and knows how to sit. Fern is has such soulful eyes and soft ears.... such a precious girl. Previous hound experienced would be preferred. She likes other dogs and cats and children. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 5 days. Whiskey is a male 8 yr old chocolate lab. He has had one home his whole life but sadly the financial/physical ability of taking care of a large dog was too much for his owner. He is 71 lbs of love and affection, he loves treats, attention and walks. Whiskey is very sweet, knows sit and down and so ready to be someone's buddy. He does have some allergies (we believe to fleas) so his coat will take a little time to come back to great shape and his teeth do have quite a bit of wear but otherwise for a senior he is in good shape and will have many years for the right owner. He is housetrained and gets along with children and most other dogs. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 5 days. Kali Mae is a female dobie born 10/2021. She is a very pretty girl, already over 48 lbs so she will likely mature at around 60 lbs. She is shy with new people and men, so a female primary owner would be best for her. She is good with kids and other dogs and ok on the leash, just needs more confidence building. Someone with bigger dog experience and time to socialize/train is necessary for this girl. She is amazing and has such a sweet disposition. She is cuddly and loving and loves playtime. She does have Von Willebrands, which is common in dobies and may not affect her life much at all. Here is more info: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/von-willebrands-disease-in-dogs. • English Bulldog, Boxer, Mixed
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Special Needs

Please read the dog's entire bio! This dog is not in our care, he is a courtesy listing for a private party, please reach out to them directly if you would like to meet him. Mack is a 2 year old Boxer/Bulldog mix. Mack hasn't been blessed with much luck in his young life. Saved from euthanasia at 17 weeks of age by a veterinary hospital employee who paid for surgery for a rectal prolapse, his "savior" suffered a severe stroke a few months later and passed away leaving Mack with a grieving family unfamiliar with his medical condition. He lived outside for a year with chronic diarrhea and slowly losing weight to the point of severe malnutrition. By chance, he was discovered anemic and covered in flies and feces and was released to a veterinarian to diagnose and treat his condition. He was diagnosed and treated for histoplasmosis, a rare fungal disease. He developed liver failure from the antifungal medication, but his histoplasmosis was cleared by that time and his liver is now normal. He has gained 10 pounds and is healthy He is loving, good with other dogs and kids, doesn't bark, great on walks and is crate trained. He needs access to a yard because since his intestines were so damaged by the fungal disease and surgery, he needs to poop frequently and should wear a diaper in the house to avoid "an accident". He is house trained. He is 37 pounds..up from 26! He requires Hills W/D food as 50% of his diet. and potentially a few supplements lifelong. He needs a lucky break to find his forever home! If you would like to meet him please email Gail.renehan@vca.com. Please note Pups and Pals does not have any more information on this pet and you would be adopting him from a private party. Listed for adoption: 3/6/22 Adoption fee PLEASE DO NOT call or email our rescue to see if a pet is available. View full description »

Teo would love a person to follow around all day and possibly a gentle doggy friend. He is a pretty cream/white boy and has very expressive eyes and a cute playful personality. Teo is a picky eater so he does need some coaxing at times, he loves toys and attention. He loves to chase bugs and lizards and is quite the little hunter 🙂 He does not love large or super bouncy dogs. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 5 days. Velvet is a female chug born May 2021, she is a precious mix of chihuahua and pug and maybe something else. Velvet is 7 lbs and has the cutest expressions. She is good on the leash, loves meeting new people and is super fun. Velvet can get pretty vocal when alone so would not be appropriate for apartment living or for someone who works full time out of the house. She is energetic and loves going places and exploring, yet snuggly and loves being held and carried. Velvet is good in the car, loves most other dogs and kids as well as playing with her toys. She does playbite/rough house, so if she is to be around small children, they have to be super dog savy. She is a good little watchdog and "guards" her home and car. In March Velvet had surgery for an MPL (knees), both of her knees were repaired. We expect that she will have a full recovery after the surgery but it is crucial that she is not allowed to become overweight in the future. For more information please visit : https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/luxating-patella-in-dogs. Her 6 week follow up showed good recovery but she will need to be slowly introduced so long walks and no jumping until 12 weeks post op (6/9/22). This dog is not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please do not apply. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Lola is a 9/10 yr old minpin-chi mix. She is on a diet and down to 13 pounds ? From her foster mom: "Unfortunately, my owner had dementia and then passed away... I arrived at my foster home with my own little suite case with my named embroidered on it. You could tell my owner loved me very much. I'm currently in a foster home with 2 other small dogs and a cat. I can sometimes get cranky in the evenings but otherwise I'm very social and fun loving although I would much rather play with humans than the other dogs in the house. So not to brag... but I'm fully house trained and know basic commands. Don't need to worry about any accidents happening in the house ? I'll literally try to do anything for a treat! To say I love food is an understatement. I enjoy laying in the sun and am very excited about going on walks! I even like to go on short runs! Many people think since I'm 9/10 yrs old that I'm an old dog, but once you meet me you'll be surprised to see I have plenty of life and probably have many years to come. I do spins and jumps just to remind you I'm still young at heart. The only way you can tell I'm slightly older is my grumpiness when I'm tired. ? But that only adds to my endearing funny sometimes sassy personality. I'm great at being independent but also love being with my human. If you want an easy, chill, fun loving dog, I'm your girl!" Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 5 days. Marbella is a female 7-8 yr old silky/yorkie type mix, a little 10 lb girl (a little chunky and she should be 8-9 lbs) with the prettiest expression on her face. She is sweet and social and loves attention/love. Marbella came to us with huge mammary masses, they have been removed and biopsied and were thankfully benign... now she needs a home who will take great care of her and love her forever. She does guard her person and is fiercely loyal, so a single person home maybe best unless you are comfortable with some training for resource guarding. She gets along with the dogs and cats in the foster home. Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. Please read the dog's entire bio before you apply. Sadly, we are no longer able to respond to every application, but will contact the one that is a good match within 3 days. Brewster is a male 1 yr old, 18 lb pug mix.... either puggle (pug /beagle) or chug (pug/chihuahua). Brewster is a timid boy, he gets scared easily of new places and new people but in a home he is a very sweet boy. He does better on anti anxiety medications as he gets overly stimulated and reactive. He will need a dog savy home willing to take their time with him, slow but constant socialization, training, patience. He is very clingy once he decides to trust you (and it doesnt take long at all). A nice calm/social dog may help him by showing him appropriate behavior. Because he is so fearful a home without children is best as visiting friends may be too much for now. He is pretty good on the leash, loves to walk or run in quiet places and very cute. He enjoys getting in the car for rides too. We do not have a shelter so individual appointments must be made to meet the pet you are interested in. Re-Listed for adoption: 11/28/21 Adoption fee: $250 PLEASE DO NOT call or email to see if a pet is available. We update our pages daily so if he/she is pictured here in the available dogs section, we are accepting applications at this time. View full description »
